Root beer BBQ chicken sandwiches are so incredibly easy to make! 3 ingredients and a slow cooker are all you need for a delicious dinner that is ready when you are. Perfect for a busy weeknight, picnic, potluck, or BBQ. Root beer, chicken breasts, BBQ sauce, and a few spices are all you need.
Ingredients
4 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 chicken breasts)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups root beer (not diet)
1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
Instructions
Place chicken breats in the slow cooker and sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt over them.
In a small bowl, combine root beer and BBQ sauce and stir together. Pour over the chicken, making sure the chicken is covered.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Once done, shred chicken with 2 forks and leave in the slow cooker (in the juices) until ready to serve.
Serve in a bun for BBQ shredded chicken sandwiches.
